Exotica Indica prides itself on understanding the artistic vision
and expectations of our customers. Our design team in California
(headed by Lamona Wood) will work with you one-on-one to evolve an
existing Exotica design. We can also work from only a rough idea you
may have and build it into an inlaid project, from concept to
installation.
The ENGAGEMENT: The stages at which we can engage your vision are
manifold:
(1) conceptual stage
(2) rough sketch
(3) adaptation of an existing Exotica design
(4) photograph or Jpeg
(5) AutoCAD or other computer file
The PROCESS: Our custom design process is simple. We work closely
with you to develop the final drafts of a design, understanding the
look and location of the design to ensure continuity within the
surrounding environment. After the inlaid art design is approved, we
confirm specific dimensions and selection of stones drawn from our pallet of inlaid stones (see
Deco
Tiles). Next, we provide you with
a color rendering of the entire inlaid project.
The CREATION: Pending your approval of the final design and layout,
we send a hardcopy, life-size plotter of the complete design (along
with color rendering for the best possible stone color and shading
match) to our team in India. A quality assurance team headed by Eric
Lane has established a time-tested relationship with our artists in
Agra. This team is involved with your work at each step, from
explaining the details of the plotter and color rendering to final
on-the-ground inspection of your art work.

The INSPECTION & DELIVERY: Your product is measured on three quality
standards: (1) accuracy of dimensions; (2) accuracy of color match;
(3) quality of finish and overall look. Once all three criteria are
met, we inform you directly that the product(s) is ready for
delivery to your doorstep, local showroom or construction site. We
use courier air delivery from India on all projects—unless alternate
shipping is requested.
